401K Plan Advisors – Their Service Responsibilities to Sponsors

  • Plan sponsors expect exceptional service for their employee team members’ success.
  • As advisors, we should be available daily to sponsors for all inquiries.
  • Advisors should contact sponsors monthly for any services we can provide for their employees.
  • Quarterly, sponsors expect investment performance reports, and annual meetings with trustees and TPAs to benchmark performance and plan fees.
  • We are responsible for being onsite at our client companies for one-on-one employee meetings, and annual comprehensive state-of-the-plan reporting and review.
  • Sponsors and Participants expect a calendar of committed times to meet with their advisor.   

401K Plan Advisors – Mutual Responsibilities with Plan Sponsors

  • Facilitate discovery, offer insights, and develop goals for the employees’ benefit.
  • Promote communication between our team and the employer's team including outside counsel, CPAs, and Third-Party Administrators.

Promote employee education, plan sponsor communication, and use the discovery to note corporate changes materially affecting the company’s plan and our ability to carry out our responsibilities, to the benefit and success of the sponsor’s plan.
